About Englewood Hospital and Medical Center

History: 1940s

Throughout the 1940s, the Hospital continued to introduce new services needed by the community or available because of technology. It formalized the x-ray department, equipped with current technology and started its Plasma Bank, the county’s first blood bank for whole blood.

It also established gynecological, bronchoscopy, gastroscopy and cardiac clinics.
