Englewood Hospital and Medical Center Earns Prestigious Certifications
The Joint Commission, The American Academy of Sleep Medicine and The American College of Radiology Recognize Englewood Hospital for Commitment to Medical Excellence

Englewood, NJ March 10, 2010 – Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (www.englewoodhospital.com) is committed to providing the highest quality medical care. To achieve this goal, the Medical Center continuously works to improve practices and delivery of services.  Three independent accrediting organizations, including The Joint Commission, the American Academy of Sleep and the American College of Radiology, have recognized the Medical Center for its efforts to achieve medical excellence and awarded prestigious accreditations to numerous service lines.

“Our medical and nursing staff adheres to a stringent set of guidelines to ensure the delivery of clinical excellence and compassionate care,” said Edna Cadmus, Senior Vice President of Patient Care for Englewood Hospital. “Patients seeking treatment will find that our team of physicians, nurses and other medical professionals are committed to providing the highest quality medical care from admission to discharge.”

The Joint Replacement Center
The knee and hip replacement programs have once again earned full certification by The Joint Commission. The certification is based on an evaluation determining that the orthopedic experts at Englewood Hospital’s Joint Replacement Center demonstrated exemplary standards and practices in joint replacement treatments and procedures.

The Joint Replacement Center offers a comprehensive array of services including knee and hip replacement surgical procedures. The Center’s multidisciplinary team of medical professionals is at the forefront of minimally invasive, orthopedic surgeries. Furthermore, most orthopedic surgeries at Englewood Hospital are bloodless and require no transfusions of banked blood, which can result in faster healing.

The Center for Sleep Medicine
The Center for Sleep earned full accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine in recognition of the Center’s commitment to quality patient care.  Programs selected for this distinction have met the Academy’s outlined standards of excellence and must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing awareness of sleep as an important element for health, public safety and quality of life.

The Center for Sleep Medicine offers a state-of-the-art diagnostic program and a variety of treatments, including non-invasive options, to help patients to return to restful sleep patterns. Headed by a multi-disciplinary medical team, the Center can offer patients assistance with sleep disturbances before serious problems develop.

Radiology Department                                                                                                                                    The Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine sections of Radiology, including PET Scan, have received full three-year accreditations from the American College of Radiology. Accreditation is based on the overall quality of a provider, including personnel, equipment and the quality of patient care.

The Department of Radiology offers various technologies such as MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine that can penetrate body tissues from head to toe to produce either a photographic or TV image that provides vital information about normal structures as well as diseases in the body.  Patients can feel confident that they are receiving the expert care needed for accurate diagnosis.
