Englewood Hospital Hosts Free Oral, Head and Neck Screening

Englewood, June 8, 2011 – In recognition of Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center recently hosted a free oral, head and neck cancer screening event. Approximately 70 patients were examined at the event, which was the only one of its kind in Northern New Jersey according to the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance. Oral, head and neck cancer is the sixth-most-common form of cancer in the country and can affect the nasal cavity, sinuses, lips, mouth, thyroid glands, salivary glands, throat, or larynx (voice box).
