Make a pledge to live a heart-healthy lifestyle in celebration of American Heart Month

Englewood, February 2, 2011 – Did you know that the way you eat, sleep and live your daily life can have a big impact on your heart? Take a proactive approach to heart health during American Heart Month this February by joining Englewood Hospital and Medical Center at any one of the heart-healthy programs listed below.  Your heart will thank you!

Community Events

Dr. Joy Browne Live                                                                                                                
Get to the “heart” of the issue with Dr. Joy Browne as she brings her radio show to Englewood Hospital to take questions from the live audience. A special luncheon will be served at 11am; the show begins at noon. Luncheon tickets are $16, the show is free.  Call 1‐877‐864‐3648 to register.

Support Groups

Weight Loss Surgery Information and Support Group

Quit Smart® Smoking Cessation

Smoking can increase the risk of heart disease. Join us and kick the habit for good.

Diabetes Support Group
Meets the fourth Tuesday of every month; open to individuals and families.
This group allows participants to share their experiences, learn from others and discuss how they live with diabetes. Guest speakers are often featured.

A support program for patients who are preparing for or have undergone cardiac surgery.

Ongoing Health and Educational Programs

The Center for Integrative Healing at Englewood Hospital
The Center offers a variety of programs that encourage well‐being through stress reduction techniques, cardiovascular fitness, and nutrition. Current schedule includes: Superbody, Superbrain fitness classes, Gentle Yoga series, Mind‐Body Stress Management group, and Aromatherapy & Guided Imagery workshops. Individual sessions for Massage (including pregnancy, and oncology massage), Holistic Nutrition Counseling, and REIKI are available. Call 201‐894‐3767 for more information.

American Heart Association approved CPR/Emergency Care Courses
Emergency care, initial, renewal, and instructor classes, including basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support are offered throughout the year.

The Center for Sleep Medicine
