Englewood Hospital Physicians Receive Gold DOC Award from
The Arnold P. Gold Foundation

Two Englewood Hospital and Medical Center physicians were recently honored with the prestigious Gold DOC award from The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, a recognition program established by the Foundation to give patients an opportunity to pay tribute to physicians who demonstrate exemplary sensitivity and compassion, as well as clinical excellence, in the care of patients and their families. 

Recognized for their excellence in humanism in medicine were Nimesh Nagarsheth, MD, Director of Gynecologic Oncology and Associate Director of Robotic Surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, and Roy Vingan, MD, a neurological surgeon on the Englewood Hospital Medical Staff.

Dr. Nagarsheth is board certified and a leader in gynecologic oncology and gynecologic surgery.  His specialty interests include novel approaches to cancer management, cancer prevention, and advanced radical laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery including robotic surgery. Currently, Dr. Nagarsheth is considered one of the world's experts in performing Bloodless Surgery in Gynecologic Oncology.  Additionally, he and five other gynecologic oncologists from around the country formed the rock band N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease) to raise awareness of gynecologic cancers through music and the arts.  

Dr. Vingan is board certified in neurosurgery. His specialty interests include complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery and spinal neuro-oncology. He is a leader in the application of minimally invasive techniques for cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal pathology and he utilizes innovative technologies for lumbar spinal reconstruction.
