“Drive Against Prostate Cancer”

-Englewood Hospital and Medical Center to Host Free Screening Event-

(Englewood, NJ, August 22, 2012) Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and the National Prostate Cancer Coalition are once again joining forces to host the “Drive Against Prostate Cancer.” The free screening event will be held at the Englewood Field Club on Thursday, September 20 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The “Drive Against Prostate Cancer” is the nation’s only mobile prostate cancer testing program, which is designed to promote awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment. Testing may help prevent some 17,000 men from receiving a late-stage diagnosis, according to a recently-released study published in the journal Cancer.

“Annual screenings are key in fighting this aggressive and deadly disease,” said, Richard Lee, MD, Chief of Urology at Englewood Hospital. “The Medical Center’s physicians will be on hand to provide free testing to men in our community. We want to give them the best possible chance against prostate cancer.”

The Medical Center’s board-certified physicians will provide the free, confidential screening to men ages 40 and older. No insurance or appointments are needed to participate in this event.
