Get A Leg Up on Vein Health

Free Vein Screenings at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center

(Englewood, NJ, September 21, 2012) Englewood Hospital and Medical Center will offer free vein screenings on October 1, 3, 8 and 10 to men and women with visible, abnormal leg veins such as bulging varicose veins or spider veins. Those who experience leg pain or have a history of blood clots are also encouraged to attend.

“It’s important for patients to know the early warning signs for vein disease in order to prevent potential complications,” says Steve Elias, MD, FACS, FACPh, Director of The Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “Symptoms include aching, throbbing or swelling in the legs, ankles or feet. Englewood Hospital’s team of vein specialists evaluates and treats vein disease using the most advanced equipment available.”

Dr. Elias is a nationally-recognized vein expert who treats patients at the Center for Vein Disease at Englewood Hospital, where the first worldwide use of the latest in minimally-invasive technologies have been used to treat patients with problem veins on an outpatient basis. As Director of the Vein Disease Center, Dr. Elias treats all aspects of vein care, including spider veins, varicose veins, perforator and deep venous incompetence, and venous ulcers. Dr. Elias performs and teaches minimally invasive vein procedures. His work also includes the prevention and treatment of DVT (Deep Venous Thrombosis).

The free vein screening includes a physical examination, a thorough review of medical history, and if further evaluation is needed, a follow-up appointment for non-invasive testing can be scheduled.
