Englewood Hospital Hosts Day of Learning and Fun for Bergen County Elementary School

-Medical Staff Teaches 4th Graders about “The Systems of the Body”-

(Englewood, NJ, April 22, 2013) –Englewood Hospital and Medical Center recently hosted an interactive learning program called “The Systems of the Body” for fourth graders from Hoover Elementary School in Bergenfield.

Guest speakers from Englewood Hospital’s medical staff educated the class about the body’s skeletal, immune, digestive, circulatory, muscular and nervous systems. Students learned about the importance of keeping each system of the body in full working order, whether it meant consuming calcium to strengthen bones or washing hands to help fight germs.

Speakers used props to help illustrate complex ideas and points, offering students a visually exciting learning experience. The class also had the opportunity to ask questions throughout the presentations. Afterwards, students enjoyed a healthy snack before heading back to school.
