(Englewood, NJ, May 20, 2013) – New York Times Magazine released its annual “Super Doctors” list, naming Englewood Hospital and Medical Center’s Dr. Nimesh Nagarsheth among New York’s top doctors in Gynecologic Oncology.

“It is an honor to have been selected for inclusion in the 2013 Super Doctors list,” said Dr. Nagarsheth. “I am thrilled that the great care our team provides our patients is being recognized by our peers in the New York metro area.”

Dr. Nagarsheth has been recognized by national independent ratings organizations, colleagues and patients as a leader in gynecologic oncology and gynecologic surgery. His specialty interests include innovative approaches to cancer management, cancer prevention and advanced minimally-invasive procedures, including robotic surgery. Dr. Nagarsheth is also considered one of the world's experts in bloodless surgery for gynecologic cancer.

In addition to his work in the field of medicine, Dr. Nagarsheth is breaking barriers in the music world. In 2008, he joined five other gynecologic oncologists from around the country and formed the rock band N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease) to raise awareness about gynecologic cancers through music and the arts. The band landed a record deal out of New York City and to date has helped raise over $400,000 for charitable organizations throughout the United States. Last year, Dr. Nagarsheth and his colleagues were awarded the Purple Passion Prize by the Foundation for Women’s Cancer for their outstanding work in women’s cancer awareness and education.

Dr. Nagarsheth is also the recipient of numerous awards and recognition. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, received the GOLD DOC Award for humanism in medicine and was named one of the 15 People to Watch in Healthcare by (201) Magazine.

“Super Doctors” selection is based on a rigorous, multi-step process developed by Key Professional Media, an independent research organization. The process is designed to identify physicians who have attained a high-degree of professional achievement and recognition from their peers. The list is published online and appears in the May 19 issue of New York Times Magazine.
