Englewood Hospital Earns Reaccreditation from The Joint Commission

-Survey Reveals Medical Center’s Commitment to Quality and Safety-

(Englewood, NJ, June 7, 2013) – Englewood Hospital and Medical Center today announced it has earned the Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation by The Joint Commission, the nation’s leading accrediting body of health care organizations. The award recognizes Englewood Hospital’s dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety in hospitals.

The Medical Center recently underwent a rigorous unannounced on-site survey by The Joint Commission to re-qualify for national accreditation. Surveyors evaluated all clinical areas and specialties, as well as surgical safety, preventing infections and the safe use of medications.

“The positive results of the Joint Commission’s evaluation reflect the outstanding safety and quality of patient care provided by our staff every day,” said Kathy Kaminsky, MS, RN, Senior Vice President of Clinical Effectiveness and Chief Quality Officer at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “Our success is attributed to the dedication and commitment of our entire health care team.”

Joint Commission accreditation is designed to offer the public an independent review of quality and safety provided by healthcare facilities nationwide, which enables patients to make informed decisions about their medical care.
