(Englewood, NJ, July 9, 2013) – The Family Birth Place at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center offers new mothers a “Mommy and Me” Yoga Class, a fun and healthy way to get back in shape after birth and to bond with baby.

The class is offered in a supportive and nurturing environment and includes gentle strengthening and stretching exercises to help mothers build strength and stamina and meditation to assist in relaxation.

“Mommy and me yoga sessions help with toning, strengthening and overall endurance and well being for the moms,” said Arlene Minoyan, instructor for the “Mommy and Me” Yoga Classes at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. “Engaging babies in a gentle yoga practice helps them to relax, develop their motor skills and helps with their physical and mental development. They bond with mom and develop social interaction with other babies in a tranquil and informal atmosphere. There’s always great energy exuding throughout these classes. Countless times, new friendships have developed among the moms and babies as they have made new friends for play dates.”

New mothers are invited to attend with their babies from six weeks to 11 months. Breast or bottle feeding is welcome.
