New Pet Therapy Dog Welcomed at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center

-Pet Therapy Enhances Hospital Experience for Patients-

(Englewood, NJ, February 18, 2014) – Meet Tyler, Englewood Hospital and Medical Center’s (EHMC) new pet therapy dog. The five-year-old pup joins his handler, Patricia Allegretta, a volunteer at the Medical Center, to help enhance the hospital experience for patients and visitors.

Every Tuesday, Tyler and Patricia spend time in EHMC’s Behavioral Health Unit.  Patients, nurses and physicians flock to see Tyler, who greets new friends with a tail wag and, on occasion, a few kisses.

“He has a sweet, calm, friendly demeanor and is a welcome sight among EHMC’s patients and visitors,” said Ms. Allegretta. “Patients often return his affection with a smile, friendly tummy rub or an ear scratch. He makes a difference and really helps patients feel happy and uplifted.”
