Dr. Benjamin Hohmuth is Chief of Hospital Medicine and the Director of Inpatient Medical Education. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark in 1999. He completed his post-graduate training in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA in 2002. Prior to coming to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center to develop a hospitalist program in 2006, he worked as a hospitalist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and held an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. He is a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine and was awarded Fellow in Hospital Medicine status in 2009 for his demonstrated achievement and leadership in the field. His professional interests include patient safety, quality of care, process improvement, emergency medicine, and prevention of venous thromboemolism. Dr. Hohmuth is conversant in Spanish.

Dr. Izabela Nowosielski has been a full time hospitalist since 2006. She received her medical degree from State University of New York in Brooklyn in 2003 and her undergraduate degree from City University of New York in 2000. She has completed her internal medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT in 2006. She is a member of American College of Physicians and the Society of Hospital Medicine. Her professional interests include inpatient resident education and medical practice marketing and development. Dr. Nowosielski is fluent in Polish.

Dr. Peter Young Shin has been a full time hospitalist since September of 2008. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2005 and his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 2001. He completed his internal medicine residency at Columbia—Presbyterian Medical Center in NY in 2008. Dr. Shin is fluent in Korean.

Dr. Joseph S. Fleischer has been a full time hospitalist since September of 2008. He received his medical degree from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997 and his undergraduate degree from Yale University in 1992. He has completed his internal medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA in 2000 where he remained as a Chief Medical Resident until 2001. Dr. Fleischer has worked as an internist in Bergen County between 2001 and 2008. His interests include primary care and endocrinology.

Dr. Yelena Galumyan has been a full time hospitalist since April of 2010. She received her medical degree from Russian State Medical University in Russia in 1996. She has completed her internal medicine residency at New York Medical College/Monefiore Medical Center, North Division in Bronx, NY in 2008 where she remained as a Chief Medical Resident and later as faculty until 2010. Dr. Galumyan interests include medical education and infectious disease. |

Dr. Liliana Rios has been a full time hospitalist since July of 2010. She received her medical degree from University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey: Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 2005. She has completed her internal medicine residency at the same institution in 2008. Dr. Rios has then moved on to an infectious disease fellowship at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York and completed that program in 2010. Dr. Rios is fluent in Spanish and French. |

Dr. Sammy Bai has been a full time nocturnist since June of 2009. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada in 1999. He completed his internal medicine residency at St. Michael Medical Center in 2004. Prior to coming to Englewood Hospital Dr. Bai worked as a hospitalist at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ.

Dr. Seth Ilias Breitbart has been a full time nocturnist since July of 2010. He received his medical degree from Ross University in Dominica in 2007. He has completed his internal medicine residency at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in 2010. |

Dr. Alexandra Gottdiener participates in the weekend coverage for the hospitalist team. She is the Chief of Medicine at the Englewood Hospital. She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1997. She has completed her internal medicine residency at New York University/ Bellevue Medical Center in New York in 2000. She is a member of American College of Physicians. Her professional interests include residency program development and quality improvement. |

Dr. Jonathan B. Shammash participates in the weekend coverage for the hospitalist team. He is the Englewood Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Program Director. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1992. He has completed his internal medicine residency training and fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania inPhiladelphia in 1996. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. Before coming to Englewood Hospital Dr. Shammash held a position of an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weil Medical College of Cornell University in New York. His professional interests include general medical consultation and anticoagulation management. |

Dr. Julie Taw participates in the weekend coverage for the hospitalist team since 2006. She is the Englewood Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Associate Program Director. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1998 and her undergraduate degree from University of California at Irvine in 1993. She has completed her primary care internal medicine residency at New York University/Bellevue Medical Center in New York in 2001. She is a member of American College of Physicians. Her professional interests include primary care and mind-body medicine.

Dr. Alla Fayngersh participates in the weekend coverage for the hospitalist team. She is the Englewood Hospital Internal Medicine Residency Assistant Program Director. She received her medial degree from the University of Rochester in 2001 and her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University in 1997. She has completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in New York in 2004. She is a member of American College of Physicians and Association of Program Directors in Internal Medicine. Her professional interests include resident and medical student education. Dr. Fayngersh is fluent in Russian.

Diane Lubinski, RN, APN has been working under the hospitalist program since 2007. Mrs. Lubinski has received her Bachelor’s in Nursing in 1986 and her Master of Nursing in 2000 from William Peterson University. Her nurse practitioner experience has been in employee health, internal medicine and cardiology.

Jill Cox, MSN, RN, CNS, C, CWOCN, APN has been working under the hospitalist team since 2008. She has received her diploma in Nursing from the Englewood Hospital School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Paterson College, and a Master of Science degree in Adult Nursing from Rutgers University. She is certified by the ANCC as a Medical-Surgical Clinical Nurse Specialist and by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nursing Board as a Wound, Ostomy ,and Continence Nurse. She is currently a doctoral student at Rutgers University in the PhD Program.

Mrs. Carolyn Brown is the Administrative Assistant for the Hospitalist Program. Mrs. Brown has received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration from Mount St. Mary College in 2001. She has been working in Englewood Hospital and Medical Center since 2002 and has joined the hospitalist program in April of 2007.
